To my dear departed mother’s relief, my obsession with smelling books just meant I was destined to be a writer.
My AP English teacher, Mr. Stahl, solidified that calling when he regaled our class of his adventures from a visit to Oxford University. Cross this with my childhood love of Harry Potter, and the rest is history.
I graduated in 2012 with my bachelor’s degree in English with a focus in Critical Literary Theory from Bridgewater State University. And yes, I did get to go to Oxford. In the summer of 2011 I spent a blissful semester at Oxford’s Wadham College, studying the heroines of the 18th century. Have you ever heard of punting? Look up punting. Now, I am happy to say I hold my Master’s of Fine Arts in Screenwriting, and I am a professor (which is weird to me to say out loud because, honestly? I’m just an 18-year old who was born in 1990).
